Now whether those four are still driving the music is a good question. Capitalists to the core.<BR/><BR/>Maybe they mean the 'underground' lifestyle, which means you do all the stuff that I mentioned before, except at night instead of the daytime.SheCodeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16781431886213930930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842906968815125638.post-92035196083713699382008-01-23T07:19:00.000-08:002008-01-23T07:19:00.000-08:00in the beginning, i think it was about the culture...in the beginning, i think it was about the culture or lifestyle that was the music, the break dancing and the grafitti. now, it isn't clear anymore. some people use the words interchangeably. some, like myself, consider it simply two different styles of music that are born of the original concept of beats and rhymes. it also seems that the more socially conscious, message driven artists are labeled hip hop (i.e. conscious hip hop--common, mos def) and the more commercial stuff is rap (i.e. southern rap, gangsta rap--three 6 mafia). but i digress, i don't liste to much of either these days, but i def. prefer the music of the "hip hop" artists i mentioned...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
