The record company makes all the money from music sales.Mes Deux Centshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10697034868111011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842906968815125638.post-39287199548693472412007-11-24T09:05:00.000-08:002007-11-24T09:05:00.000-08:00I also think how shaddy the music industry is make...I also think how shaddy the music industry is makes a big part of what you said true. Artists who have that initial success have to invest whatever they make right back into themselves to give them artistic freedom. One of the ways that record labels lock them in is by giving them a large sum of money as an advance that has to be paid back. If it isn't paid back by the first album it has to be paid back by the next albums. It is like loan situation. That is why some artist like the smaller labels that give them more creative freedom.Ehav Everhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04201312079270363001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842906968815125638.post-73029765384453074532007-11-23T07:19:00.000-08:002007-11-23T07:19:00.000-08:00Ehav,Oh my, the price of fame. I think it's interesting that artists who gain fame often find that fame takes them away from places and people that inspired them in the first place. I think that's why some artists are so good in the beggining then as they become successful they begin to fade.

They lose touch with their muse(s).Mes Deux Centshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10697034868111011343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2842906968815125638.post-16590523786010474752007-11-22T23:03:00.000-08:002007-11-22T23:03:00.000-08:00It is funny, I remember about a year ago Nora Jone...It is funny, I remember about a year ago Nora Jones had to move out of her 2 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn because a newscast did a story of how she lives in a normal 2 bedroom apartment. I like her creativity and voice. From what I heard she used to perform at Makor on the Upper West Side of Manhattan a lot.Ehav Everhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04201312079270363001noreply@blogger.com
