The Phoenix Mercury win game one of the WNBA Western Conference Finals at San Antonio in a contest that was decided during the very last seconds of the game. With under five seconds and the Mercury up 100 to 97, the San Antonio Silver Stars tied the game with an exciting 3 point shot. Then as Phoenix brought the ball in bounds Cappie Pondexter (pictured above) of the Mercury was fouled with 2.1 seconds on the clock. The Phoenix Mercury guard made both free throws putting the Mercury on top 102 to 100 as San Antonio could not score again. The two teams play again Saturday night at Phoenix in the best of three series, game time 7 p.m. eastern.
The WNBA Eastern Conference Finals begin tomorrow night at 8 p.m. from Indiana as the Detroit Shock take on the Fever.
