I think there ought to be some sort of let's see...cell phone regulation that if you want to make a call it must be approved first. It could work like this, you want to make a call so you dial the number and a person comes on and asks what is the purpose of your call. It might go something like this...
Caller: (Dials Number) Cell Phone Call Moderator: Hello, What is the purpose of your call? Caller: Well I'm at Nordstrom and I just saw my best friends boyfriend with her flirty cousin and... Cell Phone Moderator: Denied...Your call is being terminated. Caller: Hello...Hello..Dag not again, they never let me make a call!
Wouldn't that be great! Since I figure 99% of calls are totally unnecessary there would be almost no one on a cell phone anywhere! I wouldn't have to listen to someone explain why their light bill is late, no more conversations about Lil Mama's song Lip Gloss and why it is or isn't corny, no more I love you...I love you more..(giggle)..I said I love you first...(giggle), Okay you get the point.
Imagine a world where you could stand on line at the bank or the grocery store and not listen to someones conversation or walk down the street with out hearing the person walking behind you gabbing away. How wonderful would that be. And it would be wonderful, but the genie is out of the bottle, cell phone use is just going to increase, with iPhones and all the other gimmicky phones out there people will have an excuse to be on a cell phone anytime, anywhere.
Maybe I'll just go ahead and buy a cell phone. If you can't beat'em ...

Three years ago I was riding the bus and had the displeasure of listening to a young sistah's conversation with her homegirl.
She was loudly describing her romantic tryst with a guy in graphic detail.
The problem was I was sitting in the front near the driver and she was in the back.
Hi Monica,
Just today I had someone sit behind me on the bus and the new annoying thing is for people to use the speaker on their phone to listen to music.
I hope over time people will get used to the technology and learn that just because you have a phone does not mean you have to be on it every minute of the day.
OMG! People need to calm the heck down about cell phones. And there is cell phone etiquette. My nephew used to get so mad at me because I actually only turned mine on only when I needed to. These people now think everyone has to be available 24/7 and get frustrated if they can't get you right away.
I remember when if you don't answer, they just call back later. OMG! Later! OH the stress!
Ever see folks after a movie flipping on the phones before the credits roll. It's sad. Unless you are waiting for a donor organ, are a brain surgeon or work for Homeland Security, you ain't that important people!
So be careful hon, it happens to you on the sneak.
Hi Jackie,
I agree, unless you're a firefighter or a doctor you don't need to be available 24 hours a day!
I'm still a while off from getting a cell phone. I've had them in the past but they became annoying. I'm really leary of getting another one. And I'm really really leary of cell phone company contracts!
