It's like finding an abandoned house with a hot dinner still on the table and music playing on the stereo. I always wonder what happened. Was there some sort of tragic event? A broken heart? Carpal tunnel? What would happen to make someone just stop blogging with no explanation? These aren't situations where someone is just taking a few weeks off. I'm talking about finding a blog that hasn't been touched in months or a year or more.
Some of the blogs are really interesting too. I've seen abandoned blogs with very well thought out posts on intriguing topics. One would think that at least there would be a goodbye post. An explanation as to why the blogger has decided to give it up.
It's weird and a little sad and always makes me curious when I see a blog abandoned.

GEEEEZE!!! I just noticed how much you blogged! Very prolific at blogging I see!
.. On that note, I just hope you don't leave us like an empty home with a dinner an no one around..
I noticed empty blogs when looking up a title for my blog.. and it's like.. uh, you're taking up space.. I wanted my blog to be named that.. argh!
keep up the awesome work!
PS. You seem to be a big Sade fan! She's awesome. I've been listening to her and Joan Armatrading since a wee little boy. I love them
Hi RyeStar,
I love blogging so posting everyday is fun for me.
There are a ton of blog names in use when the blogger isn't blogging. I suppose though that a blogger may decide to blog again after a while so thats why Blogger does not delete them.
I love Sade and Joan. In fact I watched a Sade concert DVD this morning!
Thanks!
These abandoned blogs makes me realize how attached i've gotten to people in the blogosphere. (whether that's healthy or not is another story).
One particular one, i know he's in college so doesn't have much blogging time, but goodness, let us know you're okay! lol
Hi Miriam,
I know what you mean. It's very easy to become attached. Especially with bloggers who are more personal in their posts.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as everyone keeps perspective.
I think a blog is a life long attempt to make some sense of it all. The more life makes sense, the less I write.
Nice reading ya,
be well.
