Sapiosexual - One who finds intelligence the most sexually attractive feature. The attraction to the same or opposite sex based upon the attraction to wisdom, intellect, wit, etc.
Locavore - A person whose diet focuses on foods grown and produced nearby, typically within 100 miles.
I knew what a locavore was, I didn't know what a sapiosexual was.
Have you heard of these words before?

well, i've been up for a while now, so i'll give my thoughts.
sapiosexual = i have not heard of this--and i like it-and i think i fit into this def. intellect (not pride/ego) attracts me. a love of learning and changing attracts me. a selfless heart also is lovely to me.
i'll add this one to my mental dictionary :)
my partner is more of a locavore than i am- i learned the word from her.
but i have learned to appreciate the def. of this word more and to look for foods that fit into this catagory.
it is a good thing.
At age 35, I am sapiosexual like a mugg. lol. I pretty much know where all the sexual stuff is going to end. With the mental connection, I am under the belief the sky is the limit.
Well, unless she's married.
I'm definitely sapiosexual, in fact, during my first conversation with Loverman, I thought, WOW! This brother thinks just like me. It was almost as if intellectually, we are of the same brain. Weird, I know.
Never heard of these words -never even seen them before. . . exactly WHERE did you run across them? Who uses these words in "everyday" conversation???
Kinda felt like I was taking the analytical part of the GRE again - BAAAD flashback!!!
WTM,
I'm thinking more about where what I buy comes from these days. I would really like to become a full-time locavore.
I find intellect very attractive too; always have, even when I was a teen.

Don,
Very true, the sky can be the limit with a mental and emotional connection.

Mango Mama,
That's good; I think we all look for that. You are very fortunate.

Lisa,
Lol, Sorry, I didn't mean to give you a test flashback.
I had heard of locavore on a show on PBS a while back. I found Sapiosexual in the Urban dictionary after seeing it on someone's blog.
I'd heard of sapiosexual but not locavore, even though I try to eat locally grown stuff (not too hard with all the farmer's markets).
I'm definitely sapiosexual. I'd never heard the word before. Thanks for teaching me something new today.
I'd never heard of locavore either, but now that I know what it is, I admit that it's something I strive to be even before I knew there was a word for it.

I love words, I think I'll post more about new words as I find them.
