Oooooh, girl; I love me some White Castles. I'm not a beef eater but when I go to New York, I often go to White Castle - 4 burgers, fries and coke.
Chile, I know that it is toxic poison slop. But I like them.
Fukit. Only live once. It ain't kill me, yet.
It's nostalgic, really. I remember eating them as a child.
But... nostalgia or not; Ima have to let this go. I know I will ever eat them again. (Sigh). I'm pretty much terrified of beef -- especially White Castle beef (if that's what one would call it). It only takes one cell, one little tiny microoganism for a nicca kidneys to shut down.
Did you know a Mr. Softee cone cost like $2 now. I guess thats why you don't see many kids w/ them anymore. When I was a kid you would see a few kids w/ one and sometimes there was a line to get one. No line anymore and they are not allowed to play that music for very long either.
I grew up in Baltimore asn I had to walk PAST White Castle everyday as it sat right next to Jack-in-the-Box. I was soooooooo sheltered I could not eat ANY fast nor faster foods and be caught even dead with it. I think she would have resuscitated me (a nurse ok) and killed me again. The smell would trickle into the library a couple doors away. Man, I am still mad I did not get to eat them fresh. We'd also drive past one near Druid Hill Park right. I would hang my head out the window like a puppy just sniffing the air. No lie.
Anyhow, I had my first FF when I was 15 or so. But I did sneak a Gino's Giant (now known as Kentucky Fried Chicken/KFC) when I was like 10 and sahred it with a childhood friend. We got busted because we forgot to wipe ALL the special sauce off our faces. Back on track - I had the very first WC burger from the frozen section in the local market many years later. I ate one, gave th rest away and never looked back. I was never a American Cheese eater nor guvment (spelled like we pronounced it) bricks either.

Bye White Castle. :(
MDC, you are gonna make me cry up in here. :-) I miss all those things, esp. Mr. Softee. How can folks not have ice cream trucks?
I also miss the formerly Puerto Rican -- now Mexican -- coconut icies.
{sigh}

TBA,
Apparently I'm a vegetarian now so I guess I won't ever have another White Castle burger either. :(

Heck yeah I remember the little stick. They came in a white wrapper. They were always laying around in the bottom of the freezer. Lol!
I won't tell. ;)

Lady Di,
Nooooooooooooooooo! The frozen ones don't even count as a real White Castle burger! Those taste like cardboard.
When you get a chance try a real one from a White Castle!
