both are good in their own rights...i can't compare them..the voices are too different-different qualities of voice and both are very good. i like them both...of course re-re is a fav singer of mine..and i do love lauren..i hope she has gotten some help--be a shame not to sing good songs again...
Amber and I just listened to both of these versions on our road trip. . . she liked Roberta Flack's version. . . I like Luther's (course she hasn't heard his version yet). But after Luther, I think I prefer Roberta -
Both are great, but I like Roberta's version better for sure. Speaking of her, did you see her auction on www.robertaflack.com? She's selling the piano that she recorded her first album with! How awesome would it be to have that!

*jumping up and down cause me and Mes both posted L Boogie videos today*
LOL.
I am biased, Mes. Roberta Flack may own this song, but I'm pro-Lauryn Hill regardless. You know how I feel about her.
I like Roberta Flak's better. However, I do recall loving Al B. Sure's rendition when I was a young teen.
Luther Vandross's version is the absolute best.
@ 10:26 both male versions came to mind as I was thinking of a reply. (waiting for MDC to add those next)
And RF wins hands down and up. Never liked "L Boogie" too toughly.
Nothing like an original! i love Roberta Flack's voice. She definitely wins this competition!
Roberta - 2
Lauryn - 1
Prefer other versions - 2
