Is there anything better than...

(photo courtesy EAT - MANGOES - NEKKID blog)

I wrote a post about passion a few weeks ago. I went on about how I don't really feel a passion for anything of late. And how at other times in my life I always had a passion. Well I forgot something and that thing is love.

I have a passion for love.

I have always had a passion for being loved and being in love. And I'm not, definitely not, talking about platonic love. I'm talking about passionate, fiery, head over heals, grown-up love! Now that's something I've had and something I want to have again.

When you find passionate love it demands your undivided attention. It makes you late for work, it makes you forget about your friends, it makes you talk on the phone for hours unend.

And when you are in love, every thing is love; food is love, a good film is love, a song is love, a book is love, a sunset is love, a walk in a park is love, a cranberry scone is love, everything is love!

Is there a higher calling than being in love? I don't think so.

So as I said I was wrong, I still do have a passion for something. I have a passion for being in love. And being in love is without a doubt better than anything!

Do you agree?

Is being in love better than anything?

I do so agree, even at my ripe old age of 61! I'm still very much in love with Jenny after 27 years and I'm sure will remain so until one of us drops off our perch! As you say, love is all-consuming and gives everything around you a warm glow it wouldn't have otherwise. And definitely the ultimate passion even though I'm also passionate about many other things - books, art, blogging, hill-walking, good food and socialism to name but a few.

I was actually surprised about the last picture you put there because I know the lady in the picture. She's good peoples. Anyways, being in love is awesome, but it's also painful, too. It's an amalgamation of feelings, but overall, I'd rather have loved than never loved, anyday.

How I long for that deep down, passionate love where we are passionate about the passion of our love. Don't know if I have even touched the surface of it yet.

To answer your question: Yes, I think being in love is better than anything because we can be in love with just about anything. More importantly, our Creator.

MDC another great question. I believe love is the greatest passion we have. Other might not share my view but I am a Christ follower you can't find and example of a greater love than that. By His example I know we can find that passion for others.

You got me thinking now about what it is that I got passion for. Don't get me wrong I love my husband but I don't know if it as passion as you described.

Put me down for what you said.

I havent experienced anything remotely close to the feelings Ive experienced while being in love. There are other things in life such as the childbirth, graduation, accomplishment, laughter, sex, amongst a few others that have warmed my heart in a pleasant way...but being in love is the main definition of happiness.

MDC, I meant to tell you that I hope you're well rested and glad to have you back, I also like the way you have changed your site. Now to the business of love. Maybe I am a bit of a polytheist because I see Love as one of the great Goddesses/Gods. Yet, being in love and loving deeply, are, in my view, two separate branchs off the same tree. And I do believe thats its totally possible to be in Love and Loving someone deeply all in the same basket.

one of the best feelings in the world is to love someone and have that feeling reciprocated.

It's a beautiful thing being in love. I don't think there is anything better. Isn't that what we all want? Love and acceptance?

There's nothing better than being passionately in love!! You are so right .... a walk in the park is love, a good film is love, a good meal is love...when you're in love everything around you seems to be better!!! Everyone longs to be in love and feel loved.

I think it is... I've never had it without the BS and even that made me act a fool, so I too long for it when its real and true and pure without all the nonsense. yes I can see if being better than anything!

Love is what it is all about. I agree that having a deep passionate relationship is the best feeling a human can experience. I still, after 27 years, get excited complete with heart flutters and making up silly songs about her coming down the street, when she's on the way home. You described it well.

isn't it true that when you're in love the brain patterns are a lot like being crazy? lol. just playin' -- i heard that before and that kinda love i can do without. but real love...real love can't be beaten!

Love is fabulous. It makes me giddy and stupid which is good because often I walk around with a stick up my butt. LOL

And I sent you an email...I now know we have to send out an alert or it will be lost in the seas on 10,000 emails.

Love, both feeling it for someone else and and knowing that someone else feels that for you, has got to the all time, a-plus, number 1 feeling ever in the world. Nothing quite compares!

I have never been in love, honestly. So I imagine that it is great, but I can't say I've had the pleasure of being in love.
