I'm stunned as I've just heard that (Former Pakistani PM) Benazir Bhutto has been killed, reportedly by a suicide bomber. I have admired Ms Bhutto's strength and bravery as she had returned to Pakistan to participate in the up-coming elections. This is such sad news.
Update: According to most news agencies Ms Bhutto was shot prior to the detonation of a bomb by a suicide bomber/ assassin. (12:32 p.m. PST)

This makes me very sad. While I'm working, I've been watching the newsfeed from CNN. the pandemonium is horrible. I feel for my brothers and sisters in Pakistan today. I can't imagine living each day in political and social chaos.
Yes, this is sad news. I hope that she continues to be an inspiration to women world wide so that her life and her efforts were not in vain.
The truth is I do not see how she managed to survive this long. The atmoshpere over there is poisonous. If the Taliban were working out of pakistan why on Gods earth do you think you were safe running for president as a woman?
OH my Goodness I just heard about this. So terribly sad. I feel for her husband and kids...
Rest In Peace Ms. Bhutto.
Yeah, the family has the hardest part. This was really awful. The real residual affects of this murder will not be known until much later, though.
It doesn't seem real. Like clnmike said--there was such hostility surrounding her its amazing she did last this long.
Tami,
The country, or at least a large portion, is indeed in chaos. The elections may not happen. That would be a shame.
This is terrible.

Blu Jewel,
I think she will definitely be an inspiration.

ClnMike,
She knew she wasn't safe. She said so. That's what makes her so brave.

Shelly,
And her father and brothers were killed before her, a tragic family, like the Kennedy's.

Lisa,
That's true. This might topple all stability in Pakistan. The Taliban may gain strength.

Symphony,
It was very surreal this morning. When I first woke up they were saying that she was injured, that was shock enough. About 10 minutes later they said that she was dead.
u know this is my blog for the weekend, u should read some of my 8 or 9 prior blogs on the genberal and even how i said he would kill here, but yo folk her got 2 go geopolitical all the way to the emmirates
I hate to say it but her time was up when Musharraf let go of military power. That to me was the green light. She actually may have been safer with him in control.
Torrence,
I agree the writing was on the wall.

ClnMike,
I really think Musharraf just took the uniform off. I don't think he gave up power.
Also I think over time we will find outthat people closer to home had their hands on this.
