A male who participates in sexual relations with women but becomes emotionally involved only with other men, ie. homies, boyz, partna's.
A man who is incapable of connecting on an intimate level with women but "has nothing but love for his boyz".
A faux - heterosexual spends as much free time with other males as possible. Prefers the company of men in most situations, except for sex.
Faux - heterosexuals generally treat women as objects. Such as rappers displaying women in videos as inanimate sexual objects. Example; Rapper Snoop Dogg walking the red carpet at an event with two women on dog leashes. (see photo above)
Faux - heterosexuals generally refer to women using derogatory names, such as bitch, whore or hoe, chicken head, etc.
Faux - heterosexuality has been popularized by and is ingrained in Hip Hop culture.
It is difficult or impossible for faux - heterosexuals to maintain long term, healthy relationships with women.
The cause of faux - heterosexuality is thought to be over exposure to hip hop culture as well as lack of true heterosexual male role models.
Faux- heterosexuality is very common amongst undereducated African American men; but is not exclusive to that group. Many faux - heterosexuals are well educated and members of other ethnic groups. Over exposure to hip hop images seems to have negated the benefit of education in some cases.

Love the definition, MDC. I do know a Faux-heterosexual - I work with one. He befriends all of the men and the husbands of the women at work. Then, he calls them (the men) incessantly - and even the women when the men won't answer. It's almost like he can't live without the men. AND, to top it all off, he's married, but loves to talk about his sexual conquest with women!!! (uugh - using my reserve nerve just thinking about him). Anyway, I know what he is now!! I don't know any @ present, but I've know a few in the past. Very apt description. I remember having a flirtation w/this guy and 1 of his friends being particularly salty.
You can't break up the male relationships as a female. You have to remain a piece of ass so that the fraternity among these men is not broken.

Those women have no shame and it's sad because they set the stage for how some men will perceive and treat other women.
More and more I'm seeing the Faux Hetrosexual lifestyle being played out. I immediately thought about Cam'Ron and his song about "his boys". I've always joked about his "homeboysexuality" because that song was pretty blatant and then his wearing pink really got me.
I've got no beef with the bisexual or gay lifestyle, but be honest about it. I'm sick of these men posting up like they're so into women, but at the end of the day wanna get some dack!

Very pertinent description, MDC! Men like these are insecure, wannabe-pimp clowns with no real knowledge or respect for themselves as men, or women on the whole.
And as for these women who allow themselves to be objectified and degraded in this way, well... GRRR!! It incenses me more than these fake pimp daddy jokers because it's their own allowance of this sick behaviour that feeds into this mental sickness more than anything else - they enable men to think of them as meat as they are probably proud of the fact that they are getting pictured with a hip hop star! WTF????!! Oh my days my stomach is starting to burn now I'd better stop now.

I think when it comes to rappers and such you have to balence the concept of their PUBLIC image with that of what they real lives are like. I found out once that some of the rappers that I thought were so much like their images were nothing like their images. Some of them were married with children living in the suburbs, and the image they portray was just that a portrayal.
Some of them may have had a past similar to their images. Some of them may have had friends who were like their images. Yet, some of the prominant ones were living lives unlike their images. For example, in the 1990's I remember a panel on Oprah about the images of women in rap. Luke from the 2 Live Crew was on the panel. He was asked if he would let his four daughters listen to his music or watch his videos. With no shame he said, NO. I would not let my daughters listen to my music or get involved in my business.
In terms of the women on the leases. As far as I am concerned they are just the same as Snoop. I pretty much write off anyone who would do this (both the men and the women). I don't feel any pity for them, as they are both doing it like they are actors/actresses. Playing a role. I find it easier to stand 100% against them and their actions because if they are willing to dehumanize themselves it is easier for me to convince younger children not to follow them by point out their error.

I have developed a definition, actually more of a phrase to describe women who insist on being these breathing props for these faux - heterosexuals. It will be up on my blog tommorrow.

LOL...as usual I am late to post to this but I think you're on the money with this one, MDC. The relatively recent hypersexuality of hip-hop and rap have made these males 'too much man' for any average women compliment. The only ones that can compliment that kind of masculinity are other men and women of extreme gender traits (submissive or aggressive).
For the life of me I cannot understand why people in the industry are not willing to take responsibility for their images/music/product. Numerous studies have been done confirming the fact that media does play an important role in developing cultural norms and mores.
No, hip-hop will not make you go out, get a gun and kill someone but it will develop your consciousness to disregard the law, empathy for another human being and take a life. All you need is the opportunity.
Developing youth with the moral aptitude of an active bipolar sociopath is a dangerous trend. It is sad that so many see this as 'classism'..but I guess it's different when white people go off and kill a whole bunch of people.

I think it does matter if they are not really living by the image they have in the media. There are kids out there who actually believe these people really live this way, and follow them because of that belief. Once when I was younger I followed a rapper named Ice Cube because I thought he was "real." That was until one day I found out that he had never been a gangster. He grew up with both of his parents, went to college and was married with kids. When I found out that he had not lived the life he talked about in his songs it turned me off to him and others like him.
In terms of the women on the leases. I still say it doesn't matter who is "perceived" to have the power. They are all sellouts to morality to me. They are just as ignorant to allow themselves to be paraded that way. I just don't have sympathy for that kind of behavior, no matter what side of the lease we are talking about. I really doubt those women are doing it because of a lack of power. They, just like Snoop and others like them, are all suffering from the same lack of morality. More than likely they are fully aware of what they are doing, portraying, and the standards they are setting for themselves and women in general.

Sorry if I get so emotional about topics like this. It brings back memories of when I tutored high school kids and I tried to convince then not to fall for the fake people in Pop Culture. The only way I could convince them was to show them how fake these people were, and to stand against them 100%.
One thing I forgot to mention. One of the reasons I mention about the rappers who say one thing on tape, but actually have families is for this. When we try to define the culture that they parade I think it is important to know if they themselves are simply actors playing parts or if they actually believe what it is they portray.
It is like calling a singer a hopeless romantic because his songs talk about longing for love. The question becomes is this song from his heart, or it is simply a part of an image that sells? Knowing the difference is important when we come up with terms for them. The terms may be correct in describing the behavior (in the song or on the video), but it may not be correct in describing the real person performing it.
This reminds me of when I met Scarface from the Ghetto Boys. This was when I was in Houston, and it was before I gave up on trying to enter the rap industry. I found out that the things he talked about in his songs were not the way he lived his life. Yet, there were guys around him who did. Many of these guys were imitating him as a way into the rap game. I remember how shady the whole thing felt after I looked back and asked myself, why am with these guys? It became apparent that I had no place with them, when I was asked to take part in something that went against my morality. (Long story)
It was after this that I gave up on that particular dream, because I saw how shaddy and fake the whole thing was. It made a big difference when I how the guys who had made it were simply putting on an image, and the guys trying to live it and make it disappeared.

Another point you could add is their love of money. They will do anything immoral or illegal to acquire it.
I don't know of any guys (thank God!) who posess these traits.
After some of the things I've heard about the down low rappers I would doubt the sexual relationships with women. I also think you can't discount the relationship these rappers have with their mothers. Was she unprepared to raise a man. Did she beat them? Did she bring numerous men over to the house? I've been in store with some of these women. It makes me grit my teeth how they talk to their children how ill mannered the kids are. That kind of thing will damage children. None of these homeboyz have fathers so they seek each other out and their damaged logic festers. Soo they maybe a**holes but they didn't just spring forth this way.
