Please click on the photo for a large view. This is a testament to what African Americans had to survive so that we could be here and have the opportunities we have today. If you are African American, as you read this remember that the Black people mentioned in this document could be one of your or my ancestors.

Wow, does the credit for the photo really go to 'Hicktown Press'? LOL!
Do I have your permission to email this post? Very numbing and eye-opening...almost tear-inducing...
As usual, BHM went by too fast, and I'm extremely disappointed with the ever decreasing amount of Black movies, documentaries, etc. during BHM. The History Channel didn't show much of anything. Every time I turned to it to intentionally see if anything relevant to the month, they were still showing 'Modern Marvels' (isn't that like the biggest paradox: Modern Marvels on The History Channel?!)
PBS didn't air a whole lot of relevant content either. Really disappointing.
uknow, i have always felt we should keep giving this type of knowledge past the end of this month! aint' we still people of color?! lol
we should call it American History and keep providing knowledge that is not widely known.
don't stop mdc, just change the title to American History! also, they gave us little womyn the month of March to celebrate Herstory in.
when i was teaching, i never waited til feb got here to start teaching our history-and i never let the passing of the month stop me from continuing to teach our history to the kids. the same goes for all history, no matter the color of the skin.
but then again, i was an Art teacher, so i taught about everybody's history all year long!
thanks for all you have given to us mdc..seriously, think about keeping it coming and jsut changing the title...:D
...and how soon "they" forget.
But mention the Holocaust, and those bastards have a fit.
Mes, please dont censor me. Seeing stuff like that makes me mad @ this world.
MDC, please consider the idea of continuing your Black History (sans month) posts on a regular basis outside of February. You have been dropping some serious knowledge and it would be great for us to honor ourstory 365/12/7/24 instead of only during February. Just a thought...
peace, Villager
I agree with Villager MDC. I know you can see that I'm a regular in many ways. She Reach One, She Teach One is your motto from me.
Blessings always on researching the much needed education and placing it online for ALL to view!!
Randi,
Lol Yep that's where i got it. Yes, e-mail it as you like.
I agree, PBS was really disappointing this year.

WTM,
I might do one once or twice a month. Infact you should do a few too on African American artists.

Villager,
As I said above to WTM, I may do a couple every month. I have really enjoyed doing them.

Yes this could have been some of my ancestors . I read it and wanted to cry, that is why this should never be forgotten. It made me think of Senator Obamass name , our names could have been Obama we will never know. We are a strong People and I Love each and everyone of my beautiful Black Brothers and Sisters. OG
