Beyoncé, Ciara and Rihanna are all just following in Aaliyah's footsteps. Unfortunately for them her footprints are too filled with talent for them to follow. I remember vividly what I was doing on a warm summer night in August of 2001 when I heard a radio report of Aaliyah's death. I was completely in shock.
I wasn't just a casual Aaliyah fan. I was really into her music and her burgeoning acting career. I became a fan in 1996 with the song One In A Million and have remained one every since.
I wonder what she would be doing now, how many awards would she have won.
This video and song Try Again, released in 2000, is classic Aaliyah. I loved her style and this video shows why she is to many people an icon of style and talent.
