
Also it occurred to me that if drug companies are the major sponsors of network news, then can we trust honest reporting on those drug companies? I think the answer is obvious, no. There is no way the parent companies of those evening news broadcasts are going to kill the cash cow. So if there is some issue concerning the safety of a drug, we will all have to look elsewhere for credible information.
And one last thing. On most days the three networks start with the same lead story. How does that happen? And if the three networks are covering the same stories almost in the same order throughout their broadcasts, why do we need three network news broadcasts? Shouldn't they just merge the broadcasts into one and simulcast them on the three networks?
