Time is an amazing thing...not too long ago Marion Jones thought of time in seconds...now she thinks of time in months... I hope Marion finds peace in the years ahead...
Was the 6 month prison sentence really necessary??? Straight probation would have suffice. Once she completes her 6 months in jail, she will be on probation for 2 years. That is ridiculous for a first offense.
I've got mixed emotions about it. She should have seen what happened with FloJo in 1988 and kept it clean.
FloJo never failed a drug test, worked her ass off to set world records in the 100 and 200 meters that still haven't been touched, was an Olympic champion and she still got ACCUSED of taking steroids in rumors that followed her to the grave.
It's BS to me that the IOC is yanking medals with the quickness from Black athletes, but nobody wants to talk about taking medals away from the CONVICTED heads of the steroid fueled East German sports machine.

See there I called that, six months is nothing, all she had to do was cry, thats all they wanted.
It's so sad to see this happen to her. I wonder how much time the guy she was married to got.
She'll be out in three.

ClnMike,
Spoken like a person who isn't facing 6 months in jail. Lol
6 months sounds like a long time to me, especially for lying.

Liz,
Tim Montgomery hasn't been sentenced yet. From what I know he's expected to serve 3 or 4 years; that's for check fraud.
He got a 2 year ban from track and was stripped of his world record in the 100 metres.

Attorney Mom,
I totally agree with you. I don't think jail time was needed.
If it's supposed to be about punishment, then she already has been punished. Her life is in ruin.
The only reson I fell sorry for her is because she got more time than Victor Conte that is absurd.
I have no sympathy for her.

ClnMike,

Monica,
That's true and don't forget about the Russians as well. In fact most of the Eastern European nations were heavily into performance enhancing drugs.
