Kamala Devi Harris (born 1964 in Oakland, California) is the current District Attorney of San Francisco. She is the first female District Attorney to be elected in San Francisco, the first African American elected as District Attorney in California, and the first Indian American elected to the position in the United States. She is very popular in the Bay Area and is considered part of the strong SF political team which includes Gavin Newsom (mayor of SF) and Heather Fong (chief of police).
Kamala was always respectful to both sides during a controversy but she was also able to make a decision and stick to it.

I'm not a Gavin Newsom fan but I proudly voted for Kamala.
I don't live in SF anymore but I live in the area so I see her on the news all the time.
