Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show was a bad student, Junior on My Wife and Kids was a bad student, and Max on The George Lopez Show was a bad student too.
What's up with that?

Did you know that a U.S. spy satellite is going to be falling to earth soon? And that they don't know where it's going to fall.

The campaign commercials have started here. They are really starting to annoy me. I paid attention the first 2 or 3 times but now I just want them to stop!
Are they annoying you too?

Have you noticed that images of topless African women are routinely shown on television but when doing a piece on nude beaches in the U.S. or on the Rivera the breasts of White women are always blurred?
Why is that?

Did you know...
That Madrid is the only European capital city not situated on a river.
That Parthenogenesis is the term used to describe the process by which certain animals are able to reproduce themselves in successive female generations without intervention of a male of the species.
That Tennessee is bordered by more states than any other. The eight states are Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia.
That the book of Esther in the Bible is the only book which does not mention the name of God.
That no word in the English language rhymes with month.

In terms of the book of Esther and God's name not being in it.
"Where does one find an allusion to Esther in the Torah? In the verse, `I [God] shall surely hide (Hebrew, haster 'astir) My Face from them.'"
Talmud Bavli - Hullin 139b, quoting Dt. 31:18. This is based on the Hebrew word 'astir / Est(h)er
The idea being that even it seems that God is not present, he still is involved. The idea being that in the plain sense of the text it appears that God was not directly involved. Yet, Jewish tradition shows that even in those times whenever the King Ahasuerus is mentioned in regards to Esther that really God was involved behind the scenes. It rests in the idea that God gives woman/man the ability to solve problems and deal with real life realities without needing a supernatural miracle. I.e. the ability to overcome the situation was already there. It was a matter of Esther, Mordechai, and the rest of the Jews to act in order for it to happen.
Theo wasn't a bad student he was dyslexic. I seen dung white kids too. There's always one smart and one dumb kid.
I just hope the satellite falls on the white house one the last day of Bushes Presidency.
Well the African women are in there 'natural' environment. Wouldn't want to distort shit. Thye are trying to preserve the culture by showing it to the world. They can't show a doc on how Africans put some damn clothes on.
Interesting.
On the bad student thing, I think there are some counters--Michael Evans on Good Times, Carlton Banks on the Fresh Prince, and little TJ on Smart Guy.
Theo Huxtable was based on Cosby's real son Ennis who was dyslexic.
I hope that satelite falls in the ocean or somewhere safe. Ouch!
The campaign ads here are goofy this time. Jingles and costumes and skits. What's up with that? Annoying is not the word!
there are plenty of shows on tv that have average and below average white boys on them. Puh-len-ty.
i've seen a fair share of levels of average, below, above, and disabled intelligence and ignorance in 18 years of teaching.
i think it shows the reality of people-nothing more.
u know, i dont look or go to movies enough to notice
I have to echo the others comments on Theo in that he was based on Mr. Cosby's late son Ennis who was dyslexic as the character was. I can't speak on the others. The other stuff you provided is indeed interesting "stuff": Did you know that was the name of a classic Miles Davis tune that came out in 1967? Its a good one that clocks in at 16:00 and can be found on CD.
Yup, Theo was dyslexic, not dumb.
"... Parthenogenesis is the term used to describe the process by which certain animals are able to reproduce themselves in successive female generations without intervention of a male of the species."
Mes Deux:
Ain't no need to beat around the bush, Mes Deux. It's okay...
Erbody know you talkin' about Michael Jackson.
ha ha ha ha ha
Theo didn't have the best grades but he went to college, so that should count for something. No "A Different World" if it wasn't for Theo.
And that satellite...can't they just zap it in the air? Don't we have the technology to do that yet? Or is that only in the movies?
Liz, I think Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) was the kid that went off to A Different World's Hillman College, Theo stayed in NYC for college.
About the satellite, I know this is a bad thing but if it could just fall NEAR and not ON my house. Say like right on the lil porch - back or front - I'll get some $$ either way. AHAHAHAHAHAA!! I'll be on Ebay trying to auction it off --- in pieces. :P
(goes to do hair so she can be ready for the cameras)
Ehav,
Very interesting, as always.

TravelDiva,
You make a very good point. How could I have forgotten about Carlton Banks! Lol
I think he was the best part of the Fresh Prince.

Jackie,
Wow thanks, I didn't know that. So now I understand why they wrote Theo's character with a learning disability.

WTM,

Liz,
I don't think they can shoot it down. They are just keeping track of it.
It should be interesting to see where it falls.

Lady Di,
You are so funny. I bet those bits and pieces of the satellite would be worth a lot too! :)
